ABSTRAK



DARMAN. Pengaruh Personality, Ability, Dukungan Organisasi, Kepuasan Kerja dan Komitmen Organisasi Terhadap Kinerja Dosen Perguruan Tinggi Swasta di Gorontalo (dibimbing oleh Djabir Hamzah, Idrus Taba dan Ria Mardiana Yusuf).
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskrepsikan: pengaruh langsung antara Personality, ability dan dukungan organisasi terhadap kepuasan kerja, pengaruh Personality, ability dan dukungan organisasi terhadap komitmen organisasi baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui kepuasan kerja, pengaruh Personality, ability dan dukungan organisasi terhadap kinerja dosen baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui kepuasan kerja dan komitmen organisasi, pengaruh kepuasan kerja terhadap kinerja dosen baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui komitmen organisasi, pengaruh langsung kepuasan kerja terhadap komitmen organisasi, pengaruh langsung komitmen organisasi terhadap Kinerja Dosen.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplanatori yang menjelaskan hubungan kausal antara variabel (explanatory research). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada perguruan tinggi swasta di Gorontalo. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh dosen PTS di Gorontalo yang memiliki jabatan fungsional yang berjumlah 322 orang, jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 210 orang. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data penelitian yaitu kuesioner dan wawancara. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model persamaan struktural atau Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) untuk mengetahui hubungan kausal antar variabel laten yang terdapat dalam persamaan struktural.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan personality berpengaruh negatif tidak signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja, positif tidak signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi, positif tidak signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi melalui kepuasan kerja, positif tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja serta positif tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja melalui kepuasan kerja dan komitmen organisasi. Ability berpengaruh negatif tidak signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja, positif signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi, positif tidak signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi melalui kepuasan kerja, positif signifikan terhadap kinerja, positif tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja melalui kepuasan kerja dan komitmen organisasi. Dukungan organisasi berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja, positif signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi, positif signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi melalui kepuasan kerja, positif tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja, positif dan tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja melalui kepuasan kerja dan komitmen organisasi. Kepuasan kerja berpengaruh positif tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja dosen, positif tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja dosen melalui komitmen organisasi, positif signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi.  Komitmen organisasi berpengaruh positif tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja dosen.

ABSTRACT
DARMAN. The Effect Of Personality, Ability, Organizational Support, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment towards Lecturer Performance of Private University in Gorontalo (supervised by Djabir Hamzah, Idrus Taba and Ria Mardiana Yusuf).

This study aims to analyze and describe: direct effect between personality, ability and organizational support towards job satisfaction; effect of personality, ability and organizational support towards organizational commitment either directly or indirectly through job satisfaction; effect of personality, ability and organizational support towards lecturer performance either directly or indirectly through job satisfaction and organizational commitment; effect of job satisfaction towards lecturer performance either directly or indirectly through organizational commitment; direct effect between job satisfaction towards organizational commitment; direct effect between organizational commitment towards lecturer Performance.
This study is an explanatory research that explains the causal relationship Among the variables. This study was conducted at private universities in Gorontalo. The population of this study is all university lecturers in Gorontalo who have functional positions with the number of 322 people, number of samples in this study as many as 210 people. Technique used in collecting research data that is questioner and interview. Method of analysis used in this study is structural modeling model (SEM) to know the causal relationship between latent variables contained in the structural equation.
The result showed that personality has negatively insignificant effect towards the job satisfaction; positively insignificant towards organizational commitment through job satisfaction; positively insignificant towards performance; and positively insignificant towards performance through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Ability has negatively insignificant effect towards job satisfaction; positively significant towards organizational commitment; positively insignificant towards organizational commitment through job satisfaction; positively significant towards performance; positively insignificant towards performance through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Organizational support has positively significant effect towards job satisfaction; positively significant towards organizational commitment; positively significant towards organizational commitment through job satisfaction; positively insignificant towards performance; positively insignificant towards performance through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Job satisfaction has positively insignificant effect on lecturer performance, positively insignificant towards lecturer performance through organizational commitment, positively significant towards organizational commitment. Organizational commitment has positively insignificant effect towards lecturer performance.
